Victoria's Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel says she doesn't obsess over her body and can't resist a fry up or sticky toffee pudding

Candice Swanepoel has an enviable figure but the Victoria's Secret Angel insists she doesn't obsess over her body and treats herself to carb-loaded meals.

Candice, 27, revealed she takes a 'natural' approach to her body and has a British side with her love of a greasy English breakfast.

The South African model, from South Africa, regularly gets into the ring to box away the calories but admitted to Hello Fashion Monthly she wouldn't want to take on fellow angel Adriana Lima, 34.

Candice told the magazine: 'I'm conscious of working out and staying healthy, and in general I always go for a more natural approach.

'But I can never say "no" to a good carbonara pasta or a sticky toffee pudding. South Africans have a little bit of a British side and I love a full English breakfast as well.'

However Candice regularly works out and took up boxing when she was signed up by the legendary lingerie brand in 2007.

She previously revealed how she used ariel yoga and ballet to stay toned and told how newcomers to the Victoria's Secret shows are encouraged to step into the ring.

Candice said: 'Once you get the bug, you quite enjoy going for it. Although I still wouldn't get in the ring with Adriana [Lima], she's the queen of boxing.'

But that doesn't mean Candice can't also hold her own in the ring and regularly spars at the gym.

She said: 'It totally depends on my schedule and how much I'm travelling as I don't really have much time for the gym.

'I probably do two days working out and then take two days off. I like to stay active – not only physically, it's good for me mentally, too.'

Candice has also picked up plenty of beauty tips from her days on fashion shoots, learning the tips of the trade from one of the pros.

She said: 'I’ve worked with Pat [McGrath] for many years and she’s a master at contouring.

'She’s also taught me how to do a really good brow. In the centre I use a powder and then I go over fine hairs with a very thin pencil. People forget about brows but they shape your face.'

However Candice also revealed the downsides of being constantly styled.

She said: 'I'm so bad with my hair in my own time – I spend more time trying to hydrate it rather than style it.

One thing I do when I've had a lot of products in it all day from modelling is to rinse it without shampoo and go straight for the deep conditioner.

'I always wash my hair in the morning before I go to work so it means I'm not stripping the oils away twice a day.'

She credits body scrubs and coconut oil to keeping her skin firm and glossy and uses rose water spray while she's travelling to keep hydrated.

The model, who's boyfriend of ten years Hermann Nicoli popped the question in August, also uses Argan oil in her hair.

Despite living in the US, Candice still has a strong affection for South Africa where she grew up.

She said: 'Africa will probably always be my home deep down, but New York is my work home and I live part-time in Brazil as well – that’s my rest home.'
